Farmers’ Market Shopping Tips:

Here are some helpful hints to shop the market more effectively:

  • Shop the market with an open mind and let the fresh bounty inspire you with ideas for an upcoming meal.
  • Plan on shopping when the market opens, because it’s a bummer when all the peaches are gone! If you shop late, seek discounts while vendors are packing up their goods.
  • Bring cash (small bills) and sturdy shopping bags to hold all your treasures. If you’re shopping far from home, be sure to pack a cooler to preserve fresh items and perishables.
  • Make it a family event and bring the kids, because they’ll learn that tomatoes don’t always come in a shrink wrapped foam tray and fresh vegetables are not always available 24/7.
